Our certified tennis professionals offer clinics, league and tournament play for all ages. They will also help participants to appreciate the healthy benefits of playing tennis along with instruction on how to play safely. Playing tennis on a regular basis can help maintain or improve balance, mobility, agility, strength and fitness. Individual and group lessons are also available.
This includes a new main building, 12 lighted courts, concession and lounge area, picnic facilities with shelter, and friendly, professional staff. Whether you prefer joining the competition or viewing it, this beautiful tennis center is in the center of it all. Join a group class or take some private lessons.
The city’s newest and largest public outdoor tennis facility is South East Park and Tennis Center. The courts are shaded by thousands of trees that blanket the 62-acre park. Also featured are a picnic shelter with restrooms, additional walking trails, a playfield and 14 additional tennis courts.
The park is located approximately two miles east of I-77. Take Garners Ferry Road east past Wal-Mart and turn left at the first flashing traffic signal at Hazelwood. The park will be on the left hand side about a block away.
Woodland Park has tennis courts, picnic tables, a baseball diamond and a playground as well as a community center.
The playground has been renovated recently- the play equipment is in excellent condition. This is a very neat play structure with lots of different climbing activities. The area is not shaded but the surrounding grassy area has plenty of shade, including the swings which are separate from the rest of the play structure.
Water and restrooms are available in the community center as well as a gymnasium. The community center has computers with internet access.
Ridgewood Community Center, located between Dartmouth Avenue and Woodbrier Street, is a new community center that features a kitchen, two meeting rooms, and restrooms. Outside, there is a picnic shelter, a playground, security lighting, outdoor restrooms, and a walking trail, approximately a quarter of a mile in length.
The walking trail, made of paved, recycled, rubberized material, allows for ADA accessibility and full participation of all our patrons. There are also four exercise stations placed strategically along the trail to allow for a full-body workout of 10 different, low-impact exercises. Enjoy the decorative lighting around the walking trail and relax on one of the four park benches located under the shade trees. Enjoy lunch at the picnic shelter and let the children play in the enclosed playground as you watch their every move while walking along the trail.

This lovely neighborhood park features a playground and a picnic shelter. It is enclosed in a brick and ironwork fence. Two game tables with built in benches are perfect for a game of checkers. The equipment is well maintained and in working order. This park also has a water spray. There is a water fountain but no bathrooms. Total acreage is .79 acres.
Visit a piece of RCRC history. Trenholm Park was the very first park opened by the Richland County Recreation Commission back in 1968. The park offers programs and services that enrich the quality of life for persons of all ages and abilities. Children who participate benefit from a safe and positive family oriented environment.
Adults benefit from services that improve health and wellness through diverse recreational opportunities that enhance the overall well-being. This 10.7-acre facility includes a recreation building with a gym, game room, club room; eight lighted tennis courts; playground; swimming pool and newly renovated pool house; a lighted Little League baseball field; lighted Little League softball field; football/soccer field; picnic facilities with shelter.

A neighborhood park off of North Main, St. Fairwold Park is a small park with a playground area with slides, climbing structures, swings, picnic tables and a drinking water fountain. The park is very shady and well maintained. This park is well cared-for and enjoyed by the people who live in the neighborhood. The park is .83 acres.
At the intersection of Anders Drive and Brookmont Lane, contains two playgrounds and a basketball court that fills this 2.35-acre location. The park is located next to Anna Boyd Elementary School.
“This charming little park welcomes you both coming and going. A brick archway at the front gate is surrounded by canna lilies and beautiful landscaping, while the back exit takes you through a brick columned picnic area covered with vines. The landscaping throughout this little park is very well maintained.
Three corners of the park are shaded by large trees. The corner farthest from the playground and the path behind the picnic shelter both offer shaded benches to relax and read a book or newspaper. A large open grassy area is perfect for throwing a Frisbee or just running around.
The play equipment includes two swings, two baby swings, bouncy horses and a small climbing/slide structure. Everything is in great shape. There is a water fountain but no bathrooms. The park size is .75 acres.”
This.83 acre neighborhood park is nestled down the road from Forest Heights Elementary School on Blue Ridge Terrace. It contains a playground, full basketball court and a picnic area.
This 4.98 acre neighborhood park is located at Olympia Avenue down from Divine Truth Ministries by the Congaree River. This facility includes two picnic tables, a multi-purpose playground, nice trail good for jogging/walking, and a dedication bench in loving memory of Constance Arielle Baker who attended USC in 2005.
“Memorial Park is a four-acre tract of land in the Congaree Vista between Main Street and the river. The property is bordered by Hampton, Gadsden, Washington and Wayne Streets and is one block south of Finlay Park.
This park was created to serve as a memorial to those who served their country. It currently has monuments honoring the USS Columbia warship and those that served with her during WWII; the China-Burma-India Theater Veterans of WWII; causalities of the Pearl Harbor attack of December 7, 1941, who were from South Carolina; and the State Vietnam War Veterans.
The park was dedicated in November 1986 along with the unveiling of the South Carolina Vietnam Monument. It is the largest monument of its type outside of Washington, D.C., and stands here as a memorial to 980 South Carolinians who died in Vietnam. Plans are ongoing for the future development of the Korean War Memorial as funds are raised.
The park has a water fountain next to the Vietnam Memorial. There are no bathrooms. There is a creek running through the park with a small bridge over it and lots of birds for the kids to chase.”
Before reaching the Crane Creek Community Center on Fairfield Road, you will turn right onto Sharpe Road. This 21.44 acre neighborhood park boasts a playground, a basketball court and a picnic area.
This park, nestled within Lake Elizabeth Estates residence, on 1.08 acres consists of a basketball court, picnic shelter, playground and security lighting.
“Citadel Park is the City of Forest Acres’s most popular and busiest park. It is a neighborhood park found tucked away in what we refer to as “”the college streets””.
It is equipped with playground equipment for children young and old. It also has plenty of bench swings for adults to enjoy, picnic tables and a covered gazebo. The park also enjoys a nice green space used for sporting practices or birthday parties.”
“Idalia Park is a neighborhood park tucked away along tree-lined residential streets in south Forest Acres. It is off Forest Drive and Idalia Drive.
It features playground activities for young children, comfortable seating for adults, and a picnic area. There is also a nice open green space for playing and even team sports practices.
Idalia is a quieter park and one that is enjoyed by those who live by it or come to visit it. ”
“Pinetree Park is a nice, open greenspace also found tucked along “”the college streets”” in Forest Acres. It’s a quiet neighborhood park surrounded by residential homes.
Guests find a nice greenspace for picnicking, gathering or playing – furry friends included! There are also picnic tables and swings to enjoy. Please note this park does not have playground equipment.
Recently, the park has hosted a concert series called “”Picnic in the Park”” in conjunction with the Town Theater. Stay tuned for more events to come.”
