Ashley River Park is located near the beautiful scenic side of the Ashley River off of Bacon’s Bridge Road. The site features many amenities and recreation activities for visitors of all ages. The park is open from dawn to dusk daily. Ashley River Park features playgrounds, two picnic shelters, a splash pad, a fishing pond, riverside walking trail, kayak launch, event lawn, and dog parks for both small and large dogs. There is also an event pavilion on site available for full-day rentals. We are currently working on constructing an adventure course and rock climbing wall at this location

Lenevar Park, located in West Ashley, is a neighborhood park. It has four tennis courts, two age-appropriate playgrounds, a baseball/softball field, two half basketball courts and a playground building. The walking trail, which circles the outer perimeter of the park, is a great place to jog, exercise, or walk the dog. This park also has a off-leash dog area.

Just a few minutes from I-77, this is complex has a picnic shelter, playground, outdoor restrooms and several multi-use fields. “Community Park of Irmo is located at 7507 Eastview Drive. This is the home of the famous Okra Strut Festival. Some of the amenities include Prisma Health Amphitheater, two picnic shelters with BBQ grills, walking trails along with playgrounds and restrooms that are close by. It is a great location for parties, family reunions or any special event.

The park is open 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily and is free for public use.

“This charming little park welcomes you both coming and going. A brick archway at the front gate is surrounded by canna lilies and beautiful landscaping, while the back exit takes you through a brick columned picnic area covered with vines. The landscaping throughout this little park is very well maintained.
Three corners of the park are shaded by large trees. The corner farthest from the playground and the path behind the picnic shelter both offer shaded benches to relax and read a book or newspaper. A large open grassy area is perfect for throwing a Frisbee or just running around.
The play equipment includes two swings, two baby swings, bouncy horses and a small climbing/slide structure. Everything is in great shape. There is a water fountain but no bathrooms. The park size is .75 acres.”

The Phase 3 Trailhead is at H. Kelly Jones Park, a public park and playground great for kids of all ages.

Our most popular park is the Cayce Riverwalk Park, featuring Timmerman Trail, which is part of the 3 Rivers Greenway. The Riverwalk stretches for nearly 8 miles along the river. It offers a scenic place to walk, run, picnic, and fish, with the added convenience of lighted pathways and 24 hour security. The Riverwalk Park is located at 201 Naples Ave.

The Cayce Riverwalk is the ultimate “daycation” spot, easily accessible from anywhere in the Midlands of South Carolina. Spanning 12 miles combined, it overlooks the beautiful Congaree River, right across from the capital city of Columbia, S.C., and it is a popular destination for walking, jogging, bicycling, bird-watching, picnicking and taking in the natural beauty of the riverfront.

Woodland Park has tennis courts, picnic tables, a baseball diamond and a playground as well as a community center.
The playground has been renovated recently- the play equipment is in excellent condition. This is a very neat play structure with lots of different climbing activities. The area is not shaded but the surrounding grassy area has plenty of shade, including the swings which are separate from the rest of the play structure.
Water and restrooms are available in the community center as well as a gymnasium. The community center has computers with internet access.

One of our most popular parks, located just off of I-20 is always hopping! The local neighborhoods enjoy a gym, kitchen, weight room, racquetball courts and classrooms. The baseball fields got a face-lift this year with the addition of a new concession stand with a media box. All of the fields have lights and Meadowlake Park is the only recreation center that has a full walking track with lights. The two tennis courts have been resurfaced and the nearby playground and picnic shelter is perfect for family get togethers.

“This wonderful Live Oak, with a circumference of nine feet, is located adjacent to the Tree House at the end of Smythe Street. It has been inducted into the national Live Oak Society. Though it was toppled many years ago, it is an excellent example of the resiliency of the Live Oak. One of the nice things about downtown Summerville is the great selection of parks and recreation areas. Doty Park is not well known to people outside the Summerville area, but it really is a great place to visit. This nicely landscaped park has six tennis courts, a playground, several picnic shelters, and a gazebo. An old depot building now serves as a community center. A group of horseshoe pits here have been dug to an official distance with wooden backstops on each end. Several walking paths wind their way among these facilities as well. The Faith Sellers Senior Center is adjacent to this park.

Rosewood Park

This park has a paved trail for walking, skating, or bicycling. There are benches and trees and open fields for playing as well as a small baseball diamond. There is a picnic shelter. The playground is not shaded but has plenty of sand for digging. There is a really cool “rock climbing” feature on the play equipment and a 3-lane squiggly slide. The play equipment is great for a slightly older child as well as a small child. The size of Rosewood Park totals 5.9 acres.
