Friarsgate Park offers programs and services that enrich the quality of life for persons of all ages and abilities. Friarsgate Park is home to the 2012 State Champions, Irmo Little League, and covers almost 20 acres in the Friarsgate community.

Check out the newly renovated center that features a gymnasium, classrooms, kitchen, and two racquetball courts. The park also offers baseball, football, and soccer fields, along with a playground and a picnic shelter. Gadsden Park Community Center

This multipurpose facility located behind Gadsden Elementary School, is a great place for all types of community gatherings, family reunions, wedding receptions, baby showers and celebrations of all kinds. The center has a kitchen and a large room that can hold up to 30 people. They also have an active senior group that meets several times a week. Polo Road Park offers programs and services to improve the quality of life for people of all ages. We have a great family environment where safety and positive interactions are our goals. Our programs for children help reduce childhood obesity and provide a friendly environment for kids to meet one another. Adults benefit from services that improve their health and wellness, reduce stress, and increase social connections within the community.

Polo Road Park features amenities including a gym, game room, fitness room, classrooms, and a kitchen. The park also features several athletic fields such as lighted softball and baseball fields, six lighted soccer fields, and a football field. The park is adjacent to Sesquicentennial State Park, and hiking trails are accessible.

Woodland Park

Woodland Park has tennis courts, picnic tables, a baseball diamond and a playground as well as a community center.
The playground has been renovated recently- the play equipment is in excellent condition. This is a very neat play structure with lots of different climbing activities. The area is not shaded but the surrounding grassy area has plenty of shade, including the swings which are separate from the rest of the play structure.
Water and restrooms are available in the community center as well as a gymnasium. The community center has computers with internet access.

Trenholm Park

Visit a piece of RCRC history. Trenholm Park was the very first park opened by the Richland County Recreation Commission back in 1968. The park offers programs and services that enrich the quality of life for persons of all ages and abilities. Children who participate benefit from a safe and positive family oriented environment.

Adults benefit from services that improve health and wellness through diverse recreational opportunities that enhance the overall well-being. This 10.7-acre facility includes a recreation building with a gym, game room, club room; eight lighted tennis courts; playground; swimming pool and newly renovated pool house; a lighted Little League baseball field; lighted Little League softball field; football/soccer field; picnic facilities with shelter.

Pinehurst Park

Pinehurst Park has a baseball diamond and a playground area. There is also a spray pool and a community center. Off-street parking is available as well as water fountains and restrooms in the community center. The community center offers a game room, gymnasium and use of computers with internet access.

Martin Luther King Jr. Park

This Park is located in the heart of the Five Points business district. It also is home to three communities that make up the Waverly Neighborhood of communities. The park has a baseball field, playground area for all ages and large outdoor space that features many events throughout the year (i.e. Summer Jazz Festival, St. Patrick’s Day Celebration). The Park is also home to the Stone of Hope in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The community center has a full size basketball court, exercise room, game room, meeting rooms, computer room, kitchen, ceramic room and a computer room with WIFI capabilities.

The park is next to Memorial Stadium and backs up to the Owens Field Park Complex. Rosewood Park is across the street.

The Charles R. Drew Wellness Center is a complete workout facility providing programs designed not only to get you active now, but to keep you active for many years to come. Choose from a wide range of classes and amenities to suit your fitness needs and goals. Membership fees include use of the pool, fitness area, group exercise classes, gym, and discounted rates on special events and classes.

Amenities:
• Indoor 8 lane 25 – meter pool starting at 3 feet to 8 feet at the deep end
• Cardio equipment i.e. treadmills, elliptical trainers and upright bikes
• Two half courts, 6 basketball goals, with athletic flooring
• ADA accessible equipment
• Locker rooms and lockers (bring your own lock)

Memberships that were current at the time of shut down will be extended for the time missed.
Stop by the Front Desk on your first visit to fill out new paperwork.
Social Distancing & Masks are required throughout the building.
Max Capacity of 60 people in the Wellness Center at one time
Pool Area: 25 people. Bring your own towels & water equipment. Showers are open.

Fitness Area Upstairs: 10 people. Mask required. 15 years & up. Bring your own mat.
Group Exercise Classes
Bring your own mats & yoga equipment. Hand weights provided.
For your safety: The pool is subject to close if there are not enough lifeguards on duty.
We are currently in need of Lifeguards. According to DHEC standards, we need two lifeguards on duty at all times to remain open.
More Water Aerobics classes are coming soon. We are looking to hire Water Aerobics Instructors.

Located just off of Garners Ferry Road (Hwy 378), just a few miles from the City of Columbia, this 20-acre park features an oak-lined entrance, a gymnasium, multi-use athletic fields, tennis courts, and a walking trail. The park also features two large picnic shelters that are perfect for family cookouts and gatherings.
